French-based licensing and brand management company 2-dream Licensing has signed up plush brand BeBoy. The firm will now be looking to expand the property into other categories across Europe. The rabbit launched in 2007 and since then has notched up sales of over 1.5 million plushes across France, Germany, Italy and Nordic countries. 2-dream will be presenting BeBoy to retailers and licensees at Brand Licensing Europe next month, once the style guide is completed. Category targets will include apparel, accessories, stationery, bags, health and beauty.

Lavish Rights continues to notch up the deals for Luv Me Buddies, with construction toy company Plenty Play the latest to come on board. Alicom Licensing - Lavish's agent for Northern Europe - inked the deal, which will see a range of branded children's construction kits launch. "The educational play value and quality of the kits are very strong," said Vanessa Champion, MD of Lavish. "The Luv Me Buddies characters lends themselves to a creative product design, and from the beginning, we have worked with and signed licensees who understand this and have the imaginative and design nous to create some amazingly different products."

Lavish Rights has received a strong initial reaction to its latest character property, Luv Me Buddies, signing up 28 new agents across various countries. Companies have signed up to the brand in the US, UK and Europe, including Greece, plus Russia, Japan and Korea, according to the firm. These include Ignition Licensing, 2-Dream, License2Brand, Jewel Branding & Licensing and Characterline. "We've been blown away by the response," admitted Lavish CEO, Marc Todd. "The interest has been overwhelming." There are currently 25 Luv Me Buddies, with further characters being launch soon. A consumer website launched is also being planned.
